Honey Oat Meringues

These crunchy, light meringues have a bit of added heft to them with the addition of toasted oats. It vaguely reminds me of those crumbly granola bars that tasted like honey and oats. And the honey drizzled on top turns the top into a crunchy, sweet topping that almost resembles candy. It is just delicious!


  • 3/4 cup Oats
  • 2 Egg Whites
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • Honey for garnishing


  1. At 350 degrees F. Toast the oats on a sheet pan, until golden about 10 minutes. Let cool. Lower the heat to 250 degrees F. In a medium-sized bowl beat the egg whites and salt until they start to hold stiff peaks. Add half the sugar and whisk until glossy. Add the remaining sugar, and toasted oats, gently folding them in. Gently spoon small mounds onto a parchment lined baking sheet, now drizzle the honey on top in a pretty pattern and bake for 2 hours. When finished turn off the oven, open the door and let them finish cooling on the oven. Enjoy!
