Homemade Biscotti & Hot Coffee
A few years ago, mom bought a container of Biscotti from Costco, around Christmas time I believe.
And it was delicious.
But one day, I was thumbing through a well-worn copy of Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook,
and since I was in one of my adventuresome baking moods, I decided to try my hand at Homemade Biscotti.
And I’ve never regretted it!
Homemade Biscotti is a lovely thing to behold, and I’m always surprised at how easy it really is.
I used Martha Stewart’s recipe and since I made no changes here’s a link to her amazing recipe.
I’ve dipped this Biscotti into both white and dark chocolate, they are equally delicious.
Biscotti, perfect with an afternoon cup of coffee.
This Biscotti is not overly sweet (especially when made with a dark chocolate)
so I like to make a sweeter cup of coffee for dipping the Homemade Biscotti into.
I make a French press of coffee, steam a little half/half and milk with a spoonful of homemade chocolate sauce
(click here for Chocolate Sauce recipe and video tutorial),
and after adding it to the coffee, I froth it up with this little 50 cent frother I bought at the thrift store.
Then it is time to sit down, enjoy a hot cup of coffee, and some fresh Homemade Biscotti.
Now, tell me.
What drives you to cook homemade alternatives versus the more accessible route of buying a treat from the store?
My incentive is the taste and quality factor.
My Homemade Biscotti is delicious, and I know every ingredient that goes into it.
Sure, it doesn’t come in the little plastic wrapped packages that last forever.
It’s a fleeting delight, especially for a large family!
But that’s the point; I want to savor the little moments especially the ones that involve people and food.
And since I made the food, I will enjoy every moment with satisfaction knowing the work and love that went into it.
I hope you enjoy the everyday moments in life, and that a homemade treat is involved!

Please post a spot where I can just “skip to recipe”. Also need a search arrow say, to look up the recipe I saw on FB.
If you’re on a phone you can find the search bar at the very bottom of the home page, if you’re on a computer then it’s on the side bar below the side profile. Thanks for the feedback!
