Wild Morel Mushroom Soup Recipe

Last year, towards the end of May we made a magical discovery. We had wild Morel mushrooms on our property! And as it was a chilly day for the spring, I decided to try my hand at Wild Morel Mushroom Soup. I looked and looked, but I couldn’t find a recipe that truly satisfied me. So, I made this one up, an Easy Wild Morel Mushroom Soup Recipe. “Wild Mushrooms” The very words conjure up a picture of mossy, storybook woods, sunny days and the reassurance that spring is finally here to ... continue reading...

A Picnic In The Country With Our Bell Tent

A picnic in the country with our Canvas Bell Tent. This Spring my husband and I started looking for a tent trailer with a budget of fifteen hundred dollars that we had saved up for this purpose. Our family wanted to get out of town on the weekends to forage, fish, swim, and relax. And thus began our search... We looked at many tent trailers in this price range, they all had some issue (torn canvas, dirty, rotted floor) and to be honest, Daniel and I didn’t want another ... continue reading...

Outdoor Bathing Area

Outdoor Bathing Area. First off, this is for Shaye at the Elliott Homestead. We were chatting about a picture I posted on Facebook, this lovely one you see below. She said, "I want to know more about this area!!! I love the idea".…  Girl, this is for you and all the other people who crave a beautiful spot they can run away to. Living without power for over five years has its ups and downs. However, I liked the whole experience and can see how it really ... continue reading...

Easy DIY Barn Wood Shelves

I love the DIY Barn Wood Shelves that I often see online, but none of them were quite what I wanted. So, Daniel got out his pad and pencil, and these beautiful DIY Barn Wood Shelves happened.   He handmade the wooden corbels, which I love. Corbels have such a European feel to them, which when paired with old Barn wood it has a fantastic look. A flair of old world style, and a reminder of more recent homesteaders. Daniel decided to film the process, and I’m so glad he did! ... continue reading...

Simple French Yogurt Cake

Weekends are the best, a time to get to unfinished projects, special time with the family, and my favorite, baking something a little extra special like this lovely Simple French Yogurt Cake. I cherish my time with my family, but honestly, life can get busy with our own business, teenagers, school, remodeling our house, and homesteading! That's why sitting down to three meals a day with our family is so important to me.   Taking that a step further... Taking that a ... continue reading...

We have been fixing up and working on our house for over 4 years. It’s a beautiful property and we are so thankful for the time we spent there as a family! I’m going to talk more about the move and what’s next in stories later today. Sorry for the long silence, but moving can be seriously cray cray 😜 #homesteadliving #homesteadeverafter #movingday #farmstead #simplelivinglifestyle #hyggelifestyle
